About the Role

We are looking for an experienced Package Manager – Platform Systems (Mechanical) (m/f/d) to support a large-scale offshore substation project for our client, a leading company in the European energy sector.

In this role, you will be responsible for managing the mechanical platform systems package of an offshore converter platform. You will ensure technical compliance, interface coordination, and safe execution across all project phases — from design and construction to commissioning and operation.

Your Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage the mechanical platform systems package on offshore substations

  • Take responsibility for systems including (but not limited to):
    fire protection systems, diesel fuel and generator systems, drainage systems, cable trays and outfitting, lifting devices and material handling systems, piping and water-bearing systems

  • Coordinate interfaces with other work packages (electrical, structural) and internal functions (procurement, logistics, O&M)

  • Review and approve EPCI contractor designs, calculations, and technical documentation

  • Prepare technical specifications and support tender evaluations

  • Provide technical recommendations and resolve interdisciplinary conflicts

  • Identify and mitigate technical risks to ensure safe and efficient construction, installation, commissioning, and O&M phases

  • Plan and support technical audits, inspections, and quality controls during construction and installation

  • Support commissioning and O&M teams with mechanical expertise

  • Manage subcontractors and additional specialists within the package

  • Ensure compliance with HSE, QA, and permitting requirements

  • Develop and support inspection and test plans (ITPs)

  • Act as focal point for all mechanical platform systems topics and maintain lessons-learned documentation

  • Stay up to date with relevant technologies and applicable standards

  • Report regularly to project management and support decision-making

Your Profile

  • University degree in Mechanical Engineering or a comparable engineering discipline

  • Proven experience managing mechanical systems on offshore platforms or substations

  • Strong expertise in offshore mechanical systems and interfaces

  • Proven experience coordinating EPCI contractors and multidisciplinary teams

  • Very good knowledge of applicable standards and regulations (DIN, IEC, DNVGL, BSH)

  • Business-fluent English (C1); German is a plus

  • Confident handling of common IT tools (MS Office, SAP HANA)

  • Willingness to travel within Europe
